Nicky’s passion and attraction to yoga stems from the feelings of awareness, openness, and clarity it brings to her daily life. She was first exposed to yoga over 15 years ago but has really become more dedicated to practicing over the past 5 years. She completed her 200 HR RYS Training at Well Heart Yoga Studio in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Additionally, she is Certified in Yin Yoga and Meditation, as well as Pre-Natal Yoga. Yoga has been a powerful tool in assisting Nicky with slowing down the pace of her busy life along with keeping her in the present moment. In her classes, she emphasizes the importance of breath, alignment and the mind/body connection, while practicing the yoga asanas/poses. This allows students to become more aware and present with their own bodies and minds. In addition to this, Nicky likes to incorporate Vinyasa flows into her classes, as she believes the movement through asanas keeps the mind focused on the present moment. She is excited and extremely grateful to be working with fellow yoga students. She is highly energetic and brings her personality and humor throughout her classes while coupling that with kind and gentle actions.
200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and 200 hour Coaching Yoga, Coaching Life certificate. Since I started practicing Yoga when my daughter was born in 2011, I have never gone without it. Yoga became a part of me since the first time I stepped on my mat in a Beginners Class that was geared towards Iyengars teaching methods, alignment based. After three years of constant practice and devotion I signed up for my first Yoga training out of Well Heart Yoga in Cape Elizabeth. I then went back to the studio where it all started for me and trained under my mentor and became certified in Life Coaching through Yoga at Redefining Yoga & Pilates Ti Chi. Off the mat, I volunteer in my daughters classroom and school. My family and I enjoy spending time with with friends, going to camp every chance we can in the summer, hiking, and ice hockey in the winter months. Aside from teaching, I am a professional gardener. I look forward to meeting new people and welcome any beginners to my classes as my classes will always be about YOU! Namaste
Tara fell in love with yoga in 2009 when dragged to a hot class at Core Power Yoga, in Colorado Springs, CO. She walked out soaking wet, physically spent, and mentally calm knowing this was her gig! Tara received her 200 hour certification from KC Fitness in 2012. A Pre-natal/Postnatal yoga certificate was also completed through Yoga Fit. As an RN, she has found that yoga helps decrease stress, lower blood pressure, and relieve pain for patients in the ER and L&D wards. Tara taught at “The Leavenworth Yoga Co-op”, and has led many outdoor Army PT classes (yes, for soldiers). Community outreach includes youth sports cross training, and founding two flash mob style yoga face book groups: Mat Crashers of Leavenworth and Mat Crashers of Fort Hood. She believes that everyone can do yoga! It all starts with a deep breath, a willingness to move, and above all else, compassion. You deserve it. Namaste.
