MAINE YOGA CO-OP: YOGA BY DONATION TO BENEFIT PREBLE STREET RESOURCE CENTER

CLASS CO-LED BY VARIOUS STUDIO OWNERS IN THE PORTLAND AREA

Sunday | January 13th | 1:30pm-3:30pm | Congregation Bet Ha’am | 81 Westbrook Street, So. Portland, ME  We are so excited to be participating in the first bi-annual event from the Maine Yoga Co-Op. This event was designed to simply bring the entire yoga community of Maine (and beyond) together under one roof to practice, to connect, and to build awareness around some amazing organizations doing such important work right here in Maine.  Join us in the gorgeous space of  Bet Ha’am  for a 2 hour yoga class co-led by some of our favorite local studio owners, Lily Dougher, Terry Cockburn, Elizabeth April, Melissa Landers, Kara Seymour, Genell Huston, and Erin Compton! Expect a blend of vinyasa flow, chanting, yin yoga, yoga nidra, singing bowls, guided meditation, and pranayama (breath-work).  With our first event held in January, in the midst of our very long Winters here in Maine, we will be collecting donations during this event in support of Preble Street Resource Center. Donations can be made in cash, check, or in warm blankets, socks, winter coats, etc… To learn more about Preble Street and all that they do, please  click here . As part of our Self-Care Challenge, join us for a Full Moon Women's Circle with Danielle! 

When the moon comes full, it's time to take stock of what we have sown, bring to light what has manifest, and let go of the rest. Join Danielle Gismondi, Wild Woman Project Circle Leader, for a night of connection, ritual and movement. Half ceremony and half dance party (because who doesn't wanna get down on the full moon?!), this night will shake you to your core, and support you in a circle of strong and unique women. The person with the biggest hair wins a prize!  We will flow for an hour and then sip wine as we make vision boards for 2019!   What you can bring:    Scissors (we will have extras!)    Magazines or anything you would like to include on your board    We will provide:    Some Magazines    Glue    Boards    Other random crafty embellishments     Let's visualize and manifest everything we want for 2019! Enjoy the benefit of private instruction at a fraction of the cost in our small group beginners series. It is designed for people who are new to yoga or who have been away from it. In this six-class series, you’ll gain confidence in moving in and out of postures, develop camaraderie with other students who are learning too, and be prepared to enter a regular class with ease. Each class will introduce you to a new set of yoga techniques and then its application through movement and posture. We will work on breath, body alignment and awareness, proper muscle engagement, and more! You will receive one-on-one direction, hands-on assistance, and personal feedback in order to find modifications to best help you reach your potential. $100 for all 6 weeks. Sundays 12 pm, 75mins. 12 spots available!

The key to flight is finding your center balance and learning what needs to be engaged while balancing on our palms; this workshop will break down all of that for you!

In this workshop we’ll start with a yoga flow to get the body warmed up. We'll throw in some core exercises to help you achieve flight while offering modifications for all levels. We will break down each pose, step-by-step, and learn tips and tricks to lift your body off the ground!
