April & May Yin Sessions

Yin Yoga Series - Part 1 and 2  Part 1: April 19th, 26th, and May 3rd Part 2: May 17th, 24th, and 31st  Yin Yoga combines principles of Chinese medicine, traditional yoga, and mindfulness. It is ideal for highly active people, those with stress / anxiety, and folks who struggle with flexibility.   The Part 1 series is designed for the brand new beginner and those who are not familiar with this style of yoga. Over the course of 3 weeks, you’ll learn the guiding principles of Yin Yoga, some basic postures and how to hold them for more than a minute, using props effectively as needed. This introductory series is great preparation for the next series.  The Part 2 series will build on the previous classes, introducing more advanced and longer held postures. Spending more time in a posture may introduce boredom or discomfort and we’ll address strategies for managing both. You will leave with a handful of postures and concepts that can be added to a home practice.  $50 per session, or $90 for both.

Experience healing and relaxation in this restorative yoga + Thai massage workshop. Rest in restorative yoga poses, supported with bolsters and blankets that bring you to a place of comfort and calm. Throughout the class, receive integrative Thai massage with gentle passive stretching, and heated herbal compresses.  It is recommended to dress comfortably for this class, and in layers as the body temperature may feel cool after time. You will remain in each restorative pose for several minutes, receiving bodywork periodically throughout the class. Arrive prepared to receive hands-on assist and massage.  Class space is limited to 12 people, so sign up quick! Please arrive to class a few minutes early and we recommend bringing your own yoga mat to the workshop. Rx Movement Therapy series: Head, Neck + Shoulders  In this workshop we will focus on the head, neck, shoulders, upper spine, arms, wrists and hands. Learn focused, constructive self-care tools that can help manage tight, sore muscles and assist in releasing “stuck” or stiff movement in the body. This class is a great choice for anyone who suffers from tight neck/shoulder pain, tension headaches, or general lack of mobility in the upper body. We will begin with guided meditation and breathing exercises, practice joint mobilization and gentle vinyasa flow yoga, followed by self-massage techniques and a restorative savasana.  Come to class prepared to explore movement within your body. Bring any questions you may have about your own healing journey, as there will be time for open discussion. Class will be led by Sara-Lee, yoga instructor and massage therapist/bodyworker. 1.5 hours $25, Member discount accepted.
